How Getaway Drops works

How it works

1. Join and shareName, crew and email. Your share link works right away — post it anywhere for points.
2. Add your peddler licenseNeeded for in-person flyering. Add the issuing state, number, expiry and a photo; we check it before your first campaign.
3. Apply with your crewCrews apply to work each paid campaign. Once approved, your spot covers a set number of flyers, and drops open when the full team is set.
4. DropLeave flyers somewhere people will see them.
5. TapLog it in the app. It grabs your location.
6. Get paidPay per flyer and per result, plus points, zones and badges.

Getting started

Joining takes under a minute.

1. Open Drops and enter your name or handle.
2. Pick your crew from the list if you're part of one. Crews are set up by organizers — ask yours if you don't see your team. You can also join a crew later from the Me tab.
3. Enter your email and tap Join the street team.
4. A screen shows your 6-character sign-in code. Save it in a safe place — a notes app, password manager, or screenshot. It's emailed to you too (check spam the first time).
5. Tap I saved it and pick your crew.

Logging a drop

Log each drop right where you leave the flyers, from the Drop tab.

1. Check the event at the top is the one you're promoting. If there are several, pick from the dropdown.
2. Tap where the flyers went: door, community board, local business, cafe or bar, trailhead or park, or campus or gym.
3. Set how many flyers you left with + and −, or tap 5 or 10.
4. Add a note if it helps, like "Owner said bring more next week."
5. Tap Drop it. The first time, your phone asks to share your location — tap Allow.

Your points pop up with a breakdown. The app remembers your last spot and flyer count, so repeat drops are quick.

Limits that keep it fair

• Up to 25 flyers per drop
• Wait 45 seconds between drops
• Up to 60 drops a day
• GPS must be accurate to about 150 m — step outside if it says your location is fuzzy

Scoring

The biggest points come from reaching new neighborhoods first, not from piling flyers on the same block.

Your level, stats and badges live on the Me tab.

Your QR code and share link

Every team member gets a personal QR code for flyers (+15 per scan) and a share link for posting online (+5 per click).

1. Open the Me tab and find Your QR.
2. Tap Print event flyers to print the event's flyer at home with your QR already on it — 1, 2 or 4 per page, in full color or ink saver.
3. Already have printed flyers? Tap Print sticker sheet and put a sticker on each one before you drop it.
4. Tap Copy share link to post your personal link in texts, stories, or group chats.

Scans go straight to the event's ticket page. Each phone counts once a day for each, so rescanning your own code or reclicking your link won't add points. Your QR appears once an event is live.

Map and leaderboard

Use the Map tab to find neighborhoods nobody has reached yet — those earn the +20 zone bonus.

• Shaded squares are claimed zones. The gaps between them are open.
• Each dot is a drop. Tap one to see who, how many flyers, and when.
• Locations are rounded to about 100 m, so the map never shows an exact door.

The Board tab ranks everyone for the selected event. Switch between People and Crews — crew totals add up every member's points. The bar at the top of the app tracks flyers dropped against the event's goal.

Staying signed in

You stay signed in as long as you open the app at least once every 30 days. Each visit restarts the 30 days.

You'll need your sign-in code when you

• switch to a new phone or browser
• have been away more than 30 days
• signed out

Tap Already on the team? Sign in with your code and enter it. Your points, badges and crew are all still there.

One device at a time. Signing in on a new phone signs you out on the old one. If you see "You're signed in on another device," just enter your code to switch back.

Flyer etiquette and safety

Good drops build goodwill for every Getaways Near Me event.

• Ask first at businesses and cafes before leaving a stack or posting on their wall.
• Use real community boards.
• Don't tape flyers to poles, traffic signs, or windows that aren't yours.
• Skip any door or building with a "No solicitation" or "No flyers" sign.
• No loose flyers on the ground or on windshields.
• Stay safe: drop in daylight or well-lit areas, go with your crew when you can, and keep your eyes up.
• Be honest: log only flyers you actually dropped, where you dropped them.

Want a street team behind your event? Drops campaigns are added to events on Getaways Near Me. See how it works for hosts.

1. List your event on Getaways Near Me. It's free, and your guests never need an account.
2. Once it's approved, pick a Drops package from your host page. Packages start at $139 for a spot on a shared flyer sheet.
3. A paid team of local canvassers places your flyers, each with their own QR code. Every drop is GPS- and photo-checked.
4. Watch it on the live map on your host page, and see how many guests came in through Drops. Flyers the team doesn't place come back to you as credit.
